This was a day for me and my little boy to recover from our little colds. Two days at work and with a cold isn't ideal together with limited sleep. So we decided to stay in bed a little longer and recover. I guess today's post doesn't have much content when it comes to my wardrobe selection. Especially when you are focused on staying at home for most of the day it is good just to relax in pj's or a tracksuit. So don't think you need to see that one.
In the afternoon we decided to go off and do some posting. I have been trying to clean out my wardrobe throughout this challenge and some items I just think charity without a second thought. However there is some shoes that are still in boxes and think 'let's try my luck on ebay'. Now if my husband is reading this I suggest you stop NOW... otherwise you will be disappointed.
I don't really care how much shoes make on ebay as long as I get the postage and they disappear from my wardrobe, I am happy. Well this week was a little different. One pair of shoes sold for 99 cents. That's ok because I was never going to wear them again and because I charged $10 for postage I wasn't going to be out of pocket. Or that's what I thought.
Due to being busy and not well it had taken me over a week to post the shoes. So I emailed the buyer and said 'so sorry I will express them and because they are so late I will give you a second pair free'. Now you are possibly thinking that I am crazy for giving away perfectly good shoes. But in my sake I am just being a good samaritan and need room in the closet (I also haven't worn these shoes for around 4 + years, still neatly tucked away in their box).
So I finally went to my local post office and didn't believe it when the customer service officer said 'did you know that it is $39 to express post them to Adelaide'..... it is WHAT. I then asked how much the standard postage 'It is around $19' she replied. After seriously considering I need to take the cheaper option I thought 'no it's my fault, I will just pay the $39'. So from trying to clean my closet out and make a few dollars along the way I am now $28 in arrears. You are now probably think 'gee she is either an idiot or can't do maths' . I just see it as I am a giver.... giving away perfectly good shoes because I was too busy to to do the right job 1 week ago.
And if my husband is reading this and is thinking 'you spent HOW MUCH' on postage'. Don't worry honey. I will make it up to you :-)
Moral of the story, on ebay the buyer always wins. The seller is still in recovery mode. That $28 could have gone towards something new - oh that's right I am not aloud to shop.
